Here is a short tutorial to clarify digital video.

Currently digital Videos posses the following qualities:

1) File Type / Format: Videos come in a number of file formats ending in the following extensions: .mpg, .mp4, .avi, .wmv, .flv and .mov (Our software supports the following file types: .mpg, .flv, .wmv) This does not translate to changing the file extension to make the video play.

2) File Size: This is how many megabytes(MB) the video takes up on the Hard Drive. We recommend a video no greater than 35 mb in size for best results.

3) Encoding: Videos can be encoded or compressed. There are literally dozens of encoding schemes in which our software typically can handle native (no encoding) or PAL. The software works best without any encoding at all.

4) Pixels: How many pixels the video output would be in width and height. (Most Screens are 800 X 600 pixels width x height)

5) Frames Per Second (FPS): This is how many frames(pictures) the video has per second. Typically the best quality can be between 10 to 15 fps in ratio to file size. Higher FPS values increase the file size exponentially and can slow a computer down when processing the video.
